The Central Bank of Egypt announced that, on the occasion of the end of the financial year for banks operating in Egypt on December 31, 2025, it has been decided to suspend operations in all banks on Thursday, January 1, 2026.
The Central Bank of Egypt stated in a statement today that bank operations will resume on Sunday morning, January 4, 2026.

The official holidays and vacations during 2026 are as follows:

- Prophet’s Birthday.
- Eid al-Fitr (the first and second days of Shawwal).
- Eid al-Adha (Day of Arafat and the first and second days of Eid).
- Coptic Christmas (January 7).
- January 25 Revolution and Police Day.
- Sham El-Nessim.
- Sinai Liberation Day (April 25).
- Labor Day (May 1).
- June 30 Revolution Day.
- July 23 Revolution Day.
- Armed Forces Day (October 6).
